Clip 3:40 Short documentary video on Thacher Island Rockport, MA., a small island off Cape Ann Massachusetts, a part of the Town of Rockport. A place of naval confrontations, both minor and major. After a large number of shipwrecks around this area, a petition was sent from sea captains for a light on the island. April 22, 1771, the provincial government authorized construction of two lighthouses on the island. The lights went on December 21, 1771.
